Here is a great article Phyllis Furman from the New York Daily News wrote about our efforts in looking to hire Veterans. We appreciate the New York Daily News helping us reach out to our Veteran community and give more Veterans an opportunity to find work. Toyota Regains #1 Spot for Brand Loyalty on Kelley Blue Book Site; Lexus Top Luxury Brand

January 20, 2012 3 comments

Yet, another reason to buy Toyota!

Kelley Blue Book reports that Toyota was #1 in brand loyalty on its kbb.com website for the 4th quarter of 2011, bumping Hyundai, and Lexus was #1 among luxury brands.  Toyota last held the top spot in the 3rd quarter of 2010.

Toyota’s brand shopping loyalty for the quarter was at 50.6 percent, a 2.7 percentage point jump from the previous quarter.  Hyundai was second at 50.2 percent, Ford was third at 47.1 percent, Kia was fourth at 46.5 percent and Honda rounded out the top five at 46.4 percent.  Lexus was eighth on the overall list but first among luxury brands, followed by Audi at ninth and Mercedes Benz at eleventh.

“Hyundai was #1 in loyalty the past two quarters thanks to its strong designs, attractive value and the struggles of the Japanese brands with safety perception and supply issues,” said Akshay Anand, market intelligence Web analyst for kbb.com.  “However, Toyota has done a laudable job overcoming these issues, introducing programs such as ‘Toyota Care,’ while getting its supply back online.  The redesign of its flagship, the 2012 Toyota Camry, also helped drive interest to the brand and retain owners.”

Get that “New Car Smell” with a Certified Toyota

Toyota Certified Used Vehicles LogoAt Toyota of Manhattan, we are committed to putting the highest quality certified vehicles on the road, so only the best vehicles are chosen to be a Toyota Certified vehicle. Each certified used vehicle must meet or exceed an intensive 160-point Quality Assurance inspection & reconditioning process; which includes mechanical, detailing, and appearance standards. Each Toyota Certified Used Vehicle is reconditioned to Toyota’s exacting standards by Toyota factory-trained technicians & backed by an extensive used car warranty. The Toyota Certified Used Vehicle Warranty coverage is an extension of the vehicle’s original factory warranty and helps protect you against mechanical failures and breakdowns. Our goal is to ensure that every TCUV has that like-new look and feel that you would expect in a certified used vehicle. That means you can enjoy the peace of mind that comes with owning a Toyota Certified Used Vehicle.

The best new cars make the best used cars.

It stands to reason that the better a product is made the longer it will last, which makes getting a high-quality, low mileage Toyota at a great price a very savvy move.

Toyota’s timeless commitment to quality, innovation and durability is the foundation upon which the Toyota Certified Used Vehicles (TCUV) program launched in 1996. With each passing year the TCUV program has gained momentum – totaling over three million sales and counting.

Certification

Our certification process keeps you in mind every step of the way. The TCUV standards apply from the time a Toyota dealer acquires the vehicle through to the final sale. Each candidate for certification can be a current model year vehicle, up to and including six year old models, with 85,000 miles or less on the odometer. Prior to the rigorous 160-point inspection every certified Toyota goes through, a CARFAX vehicle history report is reviewed to ensure that only the best of the best vehicles receive the Toyota Certified Seal of approval.

Now how’s that for peace of mind?

The Toyota Certified Used Vehicles Advantage

Do You Know What This Symbol Means?

January 19, 2012 1 comment

low tire pressureDo you know what this symbol means? It has been on some automobiles’ instruments panels in the past, but since 2008, it has become a required standard on all models. This symbol has been described as a “U-shaped pictograph with treads and an exclamation point in the middle”.

Well if you guessed a low tire-pressure warning, you guessed right. If not, you are lucky you are reading this article. It is the new international symbol for low tire pressure. The warning for the TPMS lights up when one or more of your vehicle’s tires is 25% below the manufacturer’s recommended pressure. It is to my understanding that at least half of the drivers out there, do not know what this symbol means. It’s ok, if you do not or did not know what this symbol meant prior to reading this. Although the symbol is meant to be a universal warning symbol understandable by a wide variety of cultures and languages, there seems to be an issue with a lack of proper education for the general public. We are guessing that if you haven’t read your owner’s manual or aren’t a “symbologist”, you more than likely had no clue what this symbol meant. I sure had no idea until it was brought to my attention about a year ago. If this is the case, I am glad that our readers will now know and hopefully will be able to pass this information on to your friends and family!

Properly inflated tires are vitally important to your safety. Low pressure will affect your braking, acceleration, stability, cornering and fuel economy. The government instituted the TPMS mandate after the Bridgestone/Firestone tire failures on the Ford Explorer in 2000, a controversy that was partly attributed to inadequately inflated tires.
