Scion FR-S Receives an ‘A’ from Recent College Grads
The votes are in, the final tally has been scored and the new Scion FR-S has been named the top 2013 model for recent college graduates, according to a poll by Edmunds.com. The 2013 Best Cars for College Graduates survey asked recent grads to compare about two-dozen new models. The FR-S garnered 15.2 percent of first-place votes, the highest mark of any car in the contest.
So what makes the Scion FR-S so appealing to college graduates? Without question, one of the top factors includes its affordability, as the FR-S has a base price of just $24,500. But affordability is only one of several positive attributes that should have college students and recent grads gravitating toward this vehicle. Its sporty, athletic design and fun-to-drive nature also make the FR-S a winner to recent grads and students.
John DiPietro, automotive editor at Edmunds.com, noted how the “FR-S is a real ‘back-to-basics’ sports car” that is “lightweight, well balanced, responsive and very rewarding to drive.” The FR-S, which is available in five trims, comes standard with a four-cylinder engine that generates up to 200 horsepower, while still delivering up to 25 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. It also features advanced technology, from Bluetooth and iPod connectivity to a comprehensive eight-speaker system, which will make driving to classes a lot more fun.
Whether you want a sporty vehicle to cruise around campus or to make a good first impression at your new job, the 2013 Scion FR-S is an optimal – and affordable – option. Want to take one for a spin? Stop by Toyota of Manhattan today, and we can set you up for a test-drive.

New York City: The economy is booming for the Gay Wedding Industry
Since the passing of New York State’s “Same Sex Marriage Law, the wedding industry is coming out of the closet and cleaning up on all the new business. Gays and lesbians are now legally able to get married in their own state, without having to travel to another state. The wedding industry has embraced the new law and the purveyors are showing their products and services at the 19th Original GLBT Expo.
“In years past, we would have 25-30 wedding related vendors in the show. This year it has exploded and will triple in size”, states Sharmayne Wesler. “It is a perfect example of the government doing the right moral thing, but also stimulating the economy without any tax dollars involved. It was a hard fought battle, but one that is paying off morally and economically”.
The Gay Community’s economic power has been on every business’s radar. Gays have one of the highest disposable incomes, travel and entertain extensively and are extremely loyal to companies that support their cause.
The Original GLBT Expo is in its 19th year and has been at the forefront of the GLBT movement. “In years past, the GLBT Expo was a safe place for business to meet the Gay Community. But now, every company knows there is a tremendous demand by the Gay Community for all kinds of products and services. They include travel, entertainment, financial, insurance, food and beverage, health, education and cars; everything for the Gay Lifestyle, “said Sharmayne Wesler.
This is the year the Wedding Industry is going rainbow. Come join all the businesses in the Expo as they recognize the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual and Transgender Community as the perfect niche’ marketplace, one that will only get stronger as the years progress.
